Apple Picking

Each year, Tito Phil’s family go apple picking and we’re happy to be part of that activity this year.

Our destination is Rougemont, meaning red mountain in French because of the numerous apple orchards in the area.   Specifically, we went to Verger Trois Pommes.  It is an hour drive from Montreal.

There are also several wineries in the area offering free wine tasting.
Car lineups and traffic.  Apple picking is a very popular fall activity here.

You can pick the variety you want.
We found our tree and ready to pick.
The apples look good.
Red and ready to be picked.
Some good apples are up there.
You climb a ladder to reach them.  Tito Phil showed us how.
The apple picking began.
You choose your apple.
Clean it, rub it…
…and make it shiny.
Then taste it.
If it is sour, you can toss it to the ground.

The rule here is that you can eat as many apples as you want, but you can only take home the apples that you can fit in the farm-bought plastic bag… and don’t waste!

So you taste your apple…
…and taste…
…and taste…
…and taste…
…until you find the apples that you like.

This is Gabby and he loved his apple.  He ate quite a few pieces.
“Crunch!!!”
“Crrrunchhhh!!!”
Marco loved his apple, too.
Our bag is full.

Looking forward to next year’s apple picking.

A picture thought:

I couldn’t resist taking this photo.   I’m just in love with my Mac.

KQOTD.  I teased my youngest, “Gabby!  How can you bite your apple when you have missing teeth?”  Gabby (proudly) “From my side teeth, Mom!”
