As Winter Days Go By…

Outside the window…  After the snow play which we took a video of almost three weeks ago, we had freezing rain and above zero degree temperature that turned our snow playground into a nasty slush field.   There was no more snow play since then.

In action… winter swimming of the kids every Wednesday night.
Indoor pool in our community high school.
Raf and Marco enjoying the swim.
Gabby enjoying the swim more with his pretty swim coach.

Something for me… the boys bought me Just Dance for the Xbox to keep me moving.  I tried it out but the boys beat me all the time.  I thought a more apt game title for me is “Just Can’t Dance”.

On Being a Mom… sneaking veggies into kids snacks.  Carrot cupcakes for their school baon.

Homemaking… being practical by making reusable mop pads for my Swiffer.   Who says there’s no dust here in North America?  They’re absolutely wrong!  I’m done throwing $$$ on disposable pad refills so I made my own.

I’m a super fan of microfibre rags and hoarded a few years supply of it.   With rags and elastics, you’re ready to go.
On my sewing machine, I folded and sew the rag to the size of the refill pad.
And attached a couple of elastics on both ends.

Et Voila!  My reusable pads… and I can use them across the swiffer models.  I was on a roll so I made lots of these.  I just saved hubby some $$$, I think I already earned a new Mac 🙂

So glad that this thing works.  (FYI: I also found a way to refill the liquid cleanser on the wet jet.  Just pour super hot water on the cap and twist!)

At School… A spectacle de la musique, quatrième année.  Marco’s level.  It’s combination of song and some dance.

The children performed well and the audience enjoyed the show.  It was in French.

On Arts… starting a new painting.  A barn during winter.  Not done yet, but it’s coming together, I think.  Right now, I’m just not loving it yet.

Celebration… happy birthday to Ate Cris and to my brother Dennis.  They were born on the same day, January 25.
Love you lots.  Everyday I think of you all.
