La Petite Cabane À Sucre

Last weekend we took a trip to little farm called La Petite Cabane de la Côte, 60km northwest of us.

Bienvenue à La P’tite Cabane D’la Cote!

This is our second sugar shacking in Montreal.  While this farm is not as big as the first  one we’ve been to, we enjoyed this more.   The ambience was more charming and rustic and not  too commercialized.

Our table… we couldn’t wait to be seated.  My boys were hungry; we all skipped breakfast.

On the menu: Soupe aux trois pois, pain maison, une tourtière individulle au v eau, ketchup maison, fèves au lard, omelette aux fines herbes, jambon fumé, patates rôties, oreilles de crisse, and crêpes de sarrazin.  And of course, coffee at the end.  (Thank you Lisa for the above photo)

Oreilles de crisse, which literally means “ears of Christ”.  This is Quebec’s version of chicharon.

There was a mini petting farm too.
