Lazy Days

Maybe not a good start of the new year with so much lazy days these early part of January.  We pretty much lounged around the whole first week of 2012, savoring the time with the kids and just enjoyed hanging around with them.  Last Friday they had their first ever sleepover at a family friend’s house (hi Mon and Jojie!) and they enjoyed it so much that they wanted an immediate Part 2!  It gave them the sense of adventure and independence.  I, on the other hand, was so anxious to not have them around for a night.  But as Raf assured me, everything turned out well.  Could this be the start of something?

And last Saturday, someone turned another year older.

Dear Mr. Right,  Happy birthday!  Love, Mrs. Always Right

3:05 in the afternoon

Outside…  it’s snowing, yay!  We’ve been waiting for this kind of snowfall since early December.  I hope the snow stays, we’re so ready to build our snowmen.

Thankful… for having loving sisters.  Distance is only physical, remember that.

Aroma… pork adobo in the pot.

Sound… TV on FoodNetwork.  Iron Chef America is on air.  Secret ingredient is puff pastry.

Appearance… barefoot.

Task… done taking down the Christmas tree and stowing the decors away.  Finally.

Reading… Chicken Soup for the Kid’s Soul.  I read to the boys one story each night after I tuck them in.  We started it last week.  This is something the boys enjoy and look forward to.

Anticipation… the twins will be receiving their first sacrament of reconciliation next month.

Simple pleasures... linens.  My current favorite is the table cloth that my mom-in-law brought last year.  It has that Filipiniana look, which I love.

Surprise #1… a visitor on my deck.
Surprise #2… a handwritten card in the mailbox.  I was touched.

Activities… weekly indoor swimming of the boys.  They started yesterday after school.

Schedule… full week ahead.  Medical and dental check up, and back to painting class.

Photographs… the boys going around t0 give Christmas cookies to the neighbors.  (December 23)

KQOTD.  Marco (while eating chicken, his favorite): Mom! Whoever discovered that chicken can be eaten, I wanna thank that guy!
