Moments and Memories

Looking out my window… cloudless sky, sun shining brightly, birds fluttering along our cedar hedges… new blooms of pinkish purple echinaceas, white shasta daisies and dazzling burgundy drumstick alliums. Outside, it’s 26c and a UV index of 7.

I am thankful… Riel and I got our second vaccine jab this week. I am overjoyed. The boys will have theirs in three weeks.

Fully vaccinated!

One of my favorite things… my new iPad Air. The last one I had before no longer upgrades its OS. It was seven years old.

From the gardens… Chilis.

In the kitchen… Onion, bacon, cheese, chili omelette by Marco. He used the chilis from our backyard and cooked for the family.
Marco’s own recipe.

On my cutting table… Pattern pieces for sewing a collared shirt and a golf skort. Our local fabric store recently had a sale of buy 1 meter get 3 meters of fabric. Awesome discount.

My recent make… a polo shirt dress.

I am reading… This year I committed to read more books/ listen to audiobooks. So far I’ve finished 21 books since the start of the year. Our library has an amazing digital content of books, magazines and movies thru Libby and Hoopla apps. I just finished reading “The Secret Keeper of Jaipur” by Alka Joshi. It’s a sequel to her first novel of “The Henna Artist” which I enjoyed very much.

See that? 25,828 books available online.

Movement… My friend recommended me Yoga by Adrienne on Youtube; it’s doable and not so hard. Very handy when you need quick stretches and meditation.

Hopes… a Covid-free world.
Some kids chalk arts you’d see along the lakeshore path.
“It will be okay! Nice day!”
“You have now entered the jurisdiction of the ministry of Silly Walks”

Around the house… a few broken stuff moved to the curb for city pickup for proper disposal.

A few passersby took a look at the pile, rummaged a bit, and picked up the items they wanted. A neighbor took home the broken turbo broiler and rice cooker.

Simple pleasures… a locally handmade donuts filled with creme anglaise. It’s from a breakfast place 20 minutes away from us and worth the drive.
