Mont Tremblant (Part 1)

I apologize for the late posting.  It took me quite a while to wade through all the photos.  We spent three days in Mont Tremblant, around 140km away from our place.   While Mont Tremblant is most famous for ski resorts, the summer weather allowed us to enjoy the outdoors without the bulky sweaters.

Nearly there.  Getting there reminded us of Tagaytay Highlands because of the vacation condos dotting the hillside.
Approaching the Pedestrian Village.
Our hotel.

We parked at the basement.  Then Raf grabbed by arm and pointed to a van across our parking slot.

Its license plate bears my name.  Cool!

We arrived nine-thirty in the morning, way ahead of our 4pm check in time.  We wasted  no time exploring the village.  First stop: a breakfast place!

This is where we ate.   We had the typical breakfast fare: bacon, ham, sausages, eggs, toast.

The kids were served milk while waiting for their food.     Raf was still a bit sleepy here but his eyes lit up when his plate came — three eggs, cooked sunny side up!  (Trivia: “Egg” was the third word Raf learned to say when he was a baby, after Mama and Dada, though he pronounced egg as “ek” back then.  “Oeuf”, which means egg, is also the third word he learned in french, after Merci (thank you) and Sortie (exit).

Marco was already uppity here.  He secretly gobbled the free candies he found at the hotel lobby.

Stalls for bike rentals…
Fountains and waterfalls…
These multi-colored buildings are hotels.  Shops and restaurants are on the ground floor…
The view from our hotel room.

Past our hotel is Rue Des Remparts.

Rue Des Remparts is an inclined street that takes you to the top of the Pedestrian Village.
The boys along Rue Des Remparts.
Colorful buildings…
Top of the Pedestrian Village… more hotels, shops and restaurants.
The Promenade Deslauriers.  They hold events here.
Like mini concerts.
Where to?
We loved to stroll around, walking on cobbled streets and enjoying the cool breeze…
I sat the boys on this giant chair.  They suddenly looked so tiny… and cute like little puppies.  I don’t like it that they are growing too fast!
On our way back to the hotel, we passed by this lake.
Lac Miroir.  Mirror mirror on the water.
I’ll be posting the second part of Mont Tremblant pictures tomorrow.  In the meantime, I want to share with you snapshots of some flowers found in the village.

KQOTD.  The boys started school last Thursday.  Yesterday , Raf came home and said, “Mommy, today is Vendredi!”  (Vendredi is Friday)  Yikes!  The boys are starting to speak French.  On their first day, they came home counting 1-10 in French.  Ooops, roommate and I have to catch up, otherwise the boys will have their own secret language.
