More from Quebec

As captured by my apprentice, Gabby.   I had two cameras with me so he borrowed my G9.  This early, he already showed interest in photography.
He practiced on me.  That’s what I like about having someone carry the camera.  I get to be in the pictures too.
Though sometimes it’s a little skewed.
My little photographer followed me everywhere.  He took pictures of every interesting thing he saw.
He was often at the back and sometimes left behind.   He would call me to wait for him.
Then run in front and take pictures again.
But he’ll end up behind us again.
We passed by the cathedral of Notre-Dame-de-Quebec.
We went inside and said our prayers.
Devotional candles for $5 each.
Outside the church, there was a parade of Harley-Davidson comprising hundreds of riders.
Gabby took some amazing photos.
Although sometimes his subject surprises me.

But I just let him click anyway.

In Old Quebec, there is a narrow alley called rue du Trésor.  It is an open air gallery where you can purchase works done by local artists.
They are interesting to watch.

We inquired how much it would cost to have our family portrait done.  It ranges from $75-100 per head and takes around 45 minutes per seating.  We didn’t have the time.

Today’s Daybook (September 11, 2010; 3:09pm)

Outside my window… it is a jungle out there.   Unmowed lawn, overflowing weeds, overgrown plants, fallen leaves.  The air is getting cooler and cooler each day.  Autumn is near.

I am thinking… how summer went by so fast.  In a week, we’ll be back to our French language course.

I am thankful for… digital cameras.  I’m free to take as many photos as I want without having to waste film.

From the kitchen… the langue de boeuf is in the pot.   That’s for Sunday dinner.

I’m am wearing… perfume.  Yellow capri pants and orange shirt.  We took the kids for breakfast at Tim Hortons this morning.

I am creating… a clean home this week, one room at a time.  We have some guests coming over the weekend.

I am going… to bike with the kids later this afternoon.  This has been going on for two weeks now (depending on the weather).

I am reading… my kids’ reading assignments.  Specifically, Marco’s homework “Monsieur Iletaitunefois”.  It gave me a headache translating the story to English.

I am hoping… that I finish all the laundry (and ironing) by tomorrow.

I am hearing… Penguins of Madagascar on TV.  Raf is watching (while eating) right now.

Around the house… the boys are missing their Grammy and Grampy.  They’ve been asking for them since yesterday after school.  They’re out on a seminar for a week.

One of my favorite things… is chocolate.  Toblerone’s fruit and nuts right now.

A few plans for the rest of the week… planning for the twins’ 8th birthday.  It will be a simple get-together with people who have been family to us.

A picture thought that I’m sharing today:
