My eldest son (6yo) asked me to show him some yoyo tricks so I did a few basics and the break-away. My performance was awful; I didn’t do it right. Still, my kids were just amazed! Well they don’t know any better and at this point, whatever Mommy says and Mommy does, is right. Period.
So my son asked me how I learned to play yoyo. I answered him that when I was young, I watched my kid brother play it and I had my own yoyos, too. I got it from the palengke. “Did you have money when you were a kid, Mommy?” he asked. I answered, “Not much, honey, but toys in the palengke are cheap.” Then with wide eyes he said: “Wow, you can buy toys with coins! Cool. They don’t need credit card!” I think my kids will enjoy a trip to the palengke.
