Check This Out

On our last day in Montreal, DH brought me here:

and got me my new lens:
I wasn’t due to buy anything, but he insisted to replace my five-month-old-third-party-lens that got damaged in Boracay.

See what this baby can do:

The photo above was a night shot taken from our hotel balcony in Vancouver.  See that red circle up there? That was the bridge connecting to this little island, and I wanted to test how far my lens would go.  So I zoomed it and this is what I got:

Gee, I can actually count the white lane markings on the road!  And I took this hand held in low light condition.   That’s what the Image Stabilizer does for you; it reduces camera shake especially in low light situation.

I magnified the photo above in Photoshop.  See the details?   Oh I feel so blessed being with someone who supports my passion.

As promised.  Here are some photos from Vancouver.  Had our luck changed here?  You tell me.  On our first night, we went out for a walk to 7-11 to buy water and sandwich dinner.  Little did we know that while we were out, the fire alarm at the hotel set off.  When we got back, we saw a team of firefighters at the hotel lobby.

[The boys with a real fireman.  These guys were so nice they gave our kids a firefighter stickers]

Fortunately, there was no fire but just a glitch in a fire alarm system.  Unfortunately, they shut off the elevator…. which means, we had to use the stairs — from the ground level up to the 15th floor!

Anyway, here are the other stuff:

[me and the Ewoks, errr, my kids…. hey, they’re wearing new shirts!  FYI: the kids’ luggage finally arrived, though only three days left before the vacation ends.  Anyway, no more laundry for me]

[A nice lady offered to take picture of the family.  This is one of two family pictures we have during the entire vacation.  The other one was taken at Quebec train station]
