Dear Mommy, in case you are wondering, we are doing extremely well. I’ve worked a system that helps speed things up and lighten my burden. Like dressing up your grandkids, for instance.

Since they don’t have their yayas around, they dress by themselves now. I just line up their clothes… probably similar to what Papang and the uncles did in the military (you think it’s in the blood?) Of course, there are occasional blunders, like wearing their jockeys the wrong way.

And on giving them a bath, I dump your grandkids in the hot tub. I hope you don’t mind. Knowing you, you’d reprimand me for doing that since all their germs will be in the water. But they like it that way. I give them time to play. They do their own shampooing while I scrub their tiny bodies. Don’t worry, I drain the water in the tub and rinse them in the shower.

One time, the cleaning lady did her housekeeping while we were inside the room. Your son-in-law asked your grandkids to watch her how she does the bed so they know how to do it properly the next time. I must say that your grandkids are fast learners. All they need is practice, so I asked them to also fix our bed. Next in my agenda is to teach them how to wash the dishes and operate the washer and dryer. Then I will have the time to clean my toenails. You think I can also delegate the marketing to them while I go to the spa? Nah, I knew you would say “no”.

As a way of saying thanks, Gabby gave the cleaning lady a peppermint candy that he got from the jar. Little did he know that it was the cleaning lady who refills that jar with complimentary candies every day. But that is our little secret… shhhh.

Raf took a picture of the cleaning lady to remind him of who showed him and his brothers how to fix the bed properly. He is a sentimental boy. He likes keeping records of events through pictures. He is a mini-me in that sense.

Above is the photo of the cleaning lady that Raf took with his Nintendo. She’s 65 years old and will be retiring next year. She was also our cleaning lady when we were here in October last year.
By the way, we went around the island looking for a place to move. There is one that we seem to like. I will be showing you the photos soon. Give my love to all.
Hugs and kisses,
Your loving daughter Bernsky Pie
