Make Hay While the Sun Shines

Playdates, swimming, badminton, biking, golfing, basketball, walking, gardening, grilling, road trips.

In Manila, you can do any of these activities almost anytime, sometimes even on a whim.  In fact, it’s better to do it from December to February when it is cooler and not raining.

But where we are now, there are distinct activities for every season… and you realize that summertime is just too short.  So here we are making hay while the sun shines.

Some recent happenings:

School is out so we invited some of the boys’ classmates for a playdate at home.  I asked them to make the invitation themselves.

It was on a Tuesday.  Hence, only a few were able to come.
It was a fun-filled day.
They traded pokémon cards.
Grammy brought all their pokémon cards from Manila when they arrived the week before.
Then they played air hockey…
and Xbox…
and Wii…
They played Nerf inside…
and Nerf outside…
and shot some hoops…
…and many other little things too.

It was tiring, but my boys were happy.  That’s the whole point of my existence.

We also attended swimming parties three Saturdays in a row.

For Today (July 10, Sunday, 10:40am)

Outside my window… I can see the lake.

I am thinking… 9 days, 9 days, 9 days to go

From the kitchen… tupig and coffee for breakfast.  (Tita Mely, I think steaming is the better way to reheat it.  It came out so good!  Thank you!)

I am wearing… still in my jammies (and I’m not proud of it)

I am creating… my current project is my luggage.  It’s already packed and ready to go.  The only thing needed is to lock it.  Still, I’m reconfiguring the stuff inside.

I am reading... news in Flipboard.

I am hoping… that the boys (all four of them) will be fine while I’m away.

I am thankful for… Grammy and Grampy that they are here (and because of that I’ll be less worried about the boys)

Around the house… sunshine streaming in.  I’m glad the house is full of windows with beautiful views.

One of my favorite things… my iPad and all its glory.

A few plans for the rest of the week… finish all the chores before I leave.

More pictures to share…
